In Durham Gilesgate Primary School we value the personal and social development of our children.
We have adopted the Jigsaw resource and have adapted the sequence in which we teach our school values so that they tie in with the Jigsaw resource. We also use Zones of Regulation as a way of teaching children how to name and manage their emotions. This is our universal curriculum offer to all children.
Some children may require some additional small group work to help them develop social skills and these are also offered by the school. In addition, a few children might require some work on an individual basis, either with school staff or with professionals from outside the school. These are our targeted interventions and you will always be consulted on if we feel that your child needs to be included in a group or would benefit from individual work.
